ISO/IEC 27001:2005 Implementation Training Course

Course Title: Implementing an ISMS based on ISO/IEC 27001:2005 

This three day course introduces the concepts needed to understand, develop, and implement a management system.  This course covers the ISO 27001 family of standards.  Experienced instructors with real life experience explain how to build a successful management system and integrate it into the current business framework, prepare for, and achieve ISO 27001:2005 registration.  Exercises prepare delegates to identify key requirements, create winning documentation, develop project plans, and prepare a scope map, gain top management and employee buy-in, and all at minimum time, effort and cost.

Course Structure

This course is a 24 hour/3 day course.

Course Start: 08:45a.m & Course Finish: 17:30p.m

Evening study may be required as part of this course. It is recommended that all delegates attending treat the course as residential.

• Identification of information assets
• Determination of the value of information assets
• Determination of risk and impacts
• Identification of control objective and controls
• Writing the Information Security policy
• Definition and implementation of polices
• Production and implementation of policies, standards and procedures
• Incident Management
• Monitoring, Internal Audit, Management Review and Continual Improvement
• Definition of security metrics and dashboards
• Security Awareness training (SAT)
• Completion of ISMS documentation requirements
• Certification process
  

Course Assessment

The delegate is assessed based on participation and performance throughout the duration of the course. This includes all exercises, role plays, case studies and all other activities during the course. Please note, full attendance is required during the training course.
